CASA Makes Positive Difference

A letter to the editor written by Louisiana CASA Executive Director John Wyble was recently published in The Shreveport Times.

“CASA’s mission is to advocate on behalf of the best interests of children who are already placed in Louisiana’s foster care system. CASA volunteers, supported and guided by CASA staffers, gather information about the child’s circumstances then provide this information along with recommendations to the judge during court proceedings. After considering all the information provided by attorneys for the parents, attorneys for the child, CASA and state Department of Children & Family Services staffers; the judge makes the final determination regarding the child’s future.”
