On June 16, 2010, child welfare workers from the Office of Community Services (OCS) and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers and staff met together to enhance their work for abused and neglected children in Ascension Parish. This OCS and CASA social event allowed the two agencies to mingle together in a more relaxed and personal setting to build relationships. This event allowed all those involved to relate and connect on topics in addition to their love and passion for helping children in need. OCS and CASA continue to work closely together to ensure that all of the children of Ascension Parish have safe and permanent homes.

When OCS and CASA Unite….

Louisiana CASA has recruited 542 members to its Facebook cause! Help us reach 1,000 by September 1 !!

Why?

Because tonight over 5,000 Louisiana children cannot go home. Tomorrow, you can be the voice for 1 of these abused children.

Because as you know anyONE can change the world!

Each year thousands of children in every Louisiana parish enter into foster care because they were innocent victims of abuse or neglect. You can be the 1 to help an abused child in YOUR parish.

A Court Appointed Special Advocate or CASA helps an abused child by learning about his or her case and speaking up for the child’s best interests. Everyday people can be a CASA.

Help us spread the word
