Congratulations to Kristin Hibbard for being selected as Louisiana’s CASA Volunteer of the Month!

Kristin has been a CASA volunteer with CASA of NELA since 2018. She joined CASA to give back in the Northeast Louisiana region. Her first case closed quickly in 2018 and Kristin eagerly agreed to another case immediately. On each assignment, she has worked diligently to work with all parties toward permanency for the children. Kristin has used this positivity to encourage her colleagues, CASA children and parents on her cases. Since completing training, Kristin has committed 137 hours to meeting with her CASA children; 114 hours speaking with service providers; and 68 hours speaking with biological family. She is sure to speak with the caseworker every month and ask how she can help.

Kristin encourages all volunteers to have a strong “why” for being a CASA. She says that this has helped her remember her purpose for doing the work when things have gotten difficult on cases.

Kristin’s supervisor said “Kristin is a true team player. She is committed to advocating for the children on her case and leaves no stone unturned while doing so. Kristin is known around the CASA of NELA office as a rockstar volunteer and she has more than earned that reputation.”

Kristin makes those around her feel seen, respected, motivated, and loved. She challenges others to give their all and go above the call of duty. Because of her willingness to bring light to darkness, she has aided in families rebuilding what was once broken. CASA of NELA is grateful for the dedication and care she has given in order to help change children’s stories.

The mission of Louisiana CASA is to provide a well-trained CASA volunteer to advocate for every child in the judicial system due to abuse or neglect. Our mission would not be possible without the help of people like Kristin.

On behalf of the children we serve, thank you Kristin for your commitment and service.
